Exosomes

What are Exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny, cell‑derived vesicles that act like messengers between cells. They carry proteins, lipids and RNA that can influence how neighbouring cells behave. In aesthetics, high‑quality, cell‑free exosome formulations are used to support post‑procedure recovery and to help improve overall skin quality—think calmer, more even‑looking skin with a healthier glow. They are not stem cells and do not contain live cells.

Evidence for aesthetic use is growing but still evolving, so we position exosomes as an adjunct to proven treatments such as microneedling, laser, radiofrequency or chemical peels, alongside medical‑grade skincare and daily SPF. We source products that are sterile, cell‑free and manufactured to rigorous quality standards.

What happens during your Consultation?

Your practitioner will take a detailed medical and skin history, including allergies, medications, cold sore history, pregnancy or breastfeeding, autoimmune conditions, keloid scarring tendency and any recent procedures. We’ll discuss your goals (for example smoother texture or reduced downtime after a laser/needling treatment), examine your skin, and take baseline photographs with your consent.

We’ll explain how exosomes could fit into your plan, what results are realistic, and any alternatives. You’ll receive clear pre‑treatment guidance—typically pausing strong actives like retinoids for a few days, avoiding excessive sun, and arranging antiviral prophylaxis if you’re prone to cold sores. If exosomes aren’t appropriate for you, we’ll advise on safer or more effective options.

During the Treatment

Most sessions take 30–60 minutes. After cleansing, we may perform a collagen‑stimulating treatment such as microneedling or a light resurfacing/energy‑based procedure to prepare the skin. An exosome serum is then applied to the treated area to support recovery and enhance outcomes. Where micro‑injection or mesotherapy techniques are indicated, these are carried out by a medically qualified practitioner using strict aseptic technique, with topical anaesthetic offered for comfort.

You can expect temporary redness, warmth or tightness, usually settling within 24–48 hours. We’ll show you exactly how the product is used, what sensations are normal, and when to contact us. Treatment plans are personalised—some concerns respond best to a short course over several weeks, while others benefit from periodic maintenance.

After the Treatment

You’ll leave with simple, tailored aftercare: gentle cleansing and moisturising, high‑SPF daily protection, and a short pause on exfoliants, retinoids, heat (saunas, hot yoga), vigorous exercise and makeup for the advised period. If needles were used, pinpoint marks or mild bruising can occur and typically fade within a few days. Contact us promptly if you experience worsening redness, significant swelling, increasing pain, fever or signs of infection.

Results are progressive. Many people notice improved glow and softness within 1–2 weeks, with texture and tone changes building over a series of sessions. We review your progress at set intervals, adjust your plan if needed, and discuss maintenance—often top‑ups a few times per year alongside consistent skincare. Responses vary, and we won’t recommend continuing unless we can see clear benefit and you’re happy with the trajectory. If your circumstances change (for example pregnancy, new medications or a flare of a medical condition), please let us know so we can adapt your care safely.
